Parma set to make Carlos Cuesta the youngest Serie A manager in 86 years

The role of manager at Parma has been empty for the last few weeks given that Cristian Chivu left to take charge of Inter. Now the club have decided on their new appointment โ€“ 29-year-old Carlos Cuesta. He will leave the role of Mikel Artetaโ€™s assistant manager at Arsenal to take over this role.

Cuesta has been a hyped name in coaching circles despite his age and those having worked with the Gunners have spoken about how much faith Arteta had on him. Former Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka, during his time at the club had said that Cuesta will one day manage a very big club.

Cuesta started out as staff in the Atletico Madrid academy before taking over age group teams at Juventus. He moved to Arsenal with Arteta. Everyone at the Emirates has raved highly about his one-on-one coaching abilities. This will be useful at Parma who narrowly escaped relegation last season and are set to lose key players.

Cuesta will be the youngest manager in Serie A since 1939, a tall order but the Spanish manager seems well up for his first big job.
