Roma boss Claudio Ranieri confirms Mile Svilar will stay at the club

Serie A giants Roma picked up a 1-0 win over Fiorentina and Mile Svilar was key to the triumph for Claudio Ranieriโ€™s side.

The Serbian made key saves in the game and it showed how much he has grown over the last year or so. A goal from Artem Dovbyk proved enough for the Giallorossi, who were in the top four before Juventus were held to a 1-1 draw by Bologna and went back up to fourth in the table.

Ranieriโ€™s side have now lost a single game in Serie A and as of now, they are tied with Juve but behind only on goal difference.

After the game, the Italian manager was asked about Svilarโ€™s future in the summer and confirmed that the goalkeeper will stay.

He said: โ€œHeโ€™ll stay next year because he has a contract until 2027. Itโ€™s right that you and the fans push, but letโ€™s let them work.โ€

There have been doubts about Svilarโ€™s future at Roma and a lot of it is because of his contract situation, which is yet to be resolved. There have been links with a host of English clubs and everything will be determined by the contract.
