Roma interested in Nottingham Forestโ€™s Arnaud Kalimuendo, and Man Utdโ€™s Joshua Zirkzee

Roma are interested in Nottingham Forestโ€™s Arnaud Kalimuendo. The goal-shy Giallorossi are hoping that the Frenchman may reinject some much-needed energy into the attack.

Reports from Corriere dello Sport suggest that discussions at Trigoria favour a January move for the 23-year-old. Kalimuendo has remained on the fringes since his move to Forest from Rennes in August, and hasnโ€™t yet been able to warrant his ยฃ26 million price tag.

He has made five league appearances so far, all from the bench for a total of 136 minutes on the pitch. Tally in another 26 minutes in the Europa League and it would be fair to suggest the Suresnes-born striker will be evaluating his options.

Although Roma will be comfortable negotiating with former CEO, Lina Souloukou, they donโ€™t have the budget to buy Kalimuendo outright. The best move seems to be a six-month loan, with a potential option to buy. The worst-case scenario would be a temporary move, giving playing time to a forward who would risk losing value. His current contract in the Premier League runs until the summer of 2030.

Sporting director Frederic Massara knows the player well, having worked alongside him last season at Rennes. Their relationship is excellent and could accelerate negotiations.

Roma are also evaluating alternative options, with Joshua Zirkzee

another who has popped up on the market. The Dutchman has played just 15 minutes in the Premier League in the last month and a half, and his entourage are knocking on various doors. Gasperini really likes the former Bologna player, and he seems open to an Italian return.
