Serie A side Bologna are fighting to keep Jhon Lucumi at the club and Sunderlandโs attempts are getting stronger to land the Colombian.
Some days ago, the newly promoted Premier League side made an offer for the defender. Tuttomercatoweb report that the money on offer didnโt impress Bologna, who rejected the approach from the Black Cats.
But Sunderland havenโt given up and are prepared to now offer over โฌ28 million in their second formal bid. This is more than Lucumiโs release clause, which expired in the middle of July and this is giving Bologna greater control over the playerโs situation.
As of now, they consider Lucumi to be unsellable as theyโve already sold Sam Beukema to Napoli. However, thereโs also a very complicated contract renewal in the background for the defender, and an offer better than previous attempts could even push Bologna to change their minds.
