Milan are on the verge of securing their new focal point in attack, with a deal for West Ham United striker Niclas Füllkrug now described as almost done and the German is ‘practically’ a Rossoneri player.
According to a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri have intensified negotiations to bring the German international to San Siro in the opening days of the January window to bolster a frontline in need of physical presence.
The financial framework of the deal is currently being finalized, with Milan moving closer to West Ham’s demands. The Premier League side is holding out for an obligation to buy, while Milan’s current offer sits slightly lower at an initial loan with the option to buy at€13m and €15m
Both clubs are reportedly working with a shared desire to wrap up the transfer quickly, as West Ham look to move on from the striker and Milan seeks immediate reinforcements.
In terms of timing, the roadmap for Füllkrug’s arrival in Italy is already being laid out. While the deal is in its final stages, with medical examinations potentially being scheduled in Milan shortly, fans will have to wait a brief moment for his debut. The report emphasizes that while the German is expected to join the squad imminently, the timing will likely rule him out for the upcoming clash against Cagliari, as the club focuses on integrating him fully into the setup for the following fixtures.
With personal terms not expected to be an issue, Milan is pushing to have the “Lücke” (The Gap) specialist available for training as soon as the window officially opens, providing a significant boost to the Rossoneri’s tactical options for the second half of the season.
