Serie A champions Inter have now confirmed Aleksander Stankovicโs return to the club after a spell at Club Brugge. They have formally exercised their option to buy but there is still a chance the midfielder can depart the Nerazzurri.
Calciomercato report that his outstanding performances in Belgium have caught the attention of many clubs. Brentford and Newcastle United have explored the situation and would be willing to offer a fee of โฌ40 million to sign him from Inter.
The player isnโt entirely keen though, as he is much more interested in playing under Cristian Chivu. He played under the Romanian during his spell with the Primavera side and the pair are quite close, with Stankovicโs father having played with the current manager in the past.
Things could change regardless, with everything coming down to whether Newcastle and Brentford make a concrete approach or not.

Player stance should be rewarded
It feels like Stankovic sees playing for the Inter senior team as a dream. He is very keen on making that happen and Inter should always keep that in mind. They should hand him important minutes next season and then assess his development.
Even if things do not work out, they should still be able to record a capital gain from his sale later on. Clubs would be interested even then and Stankovic would have accomplished his dream.
