Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus’ agent reveals Napoli move very difficult

Serie A side Napoli have been linked with a move for Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus in recent days. The Italian media has been abuzz with the idea of the striker ending up in Naples as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku.

Get Italian Football News have looked at why the deal would anyway have been complex due to financial reasons. Now, the player’s agent Giovanni Branchini himself has provided some details.

Corriere dello Sport note that he was in Italy recently as the agent who also handles the Italian affairs of Napoli star Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa. The Cameroonian is nearing a renewal at Napoli and he also spoke about the Arsenal striker, who is a primary client of his – just like Partenopei manager Max Allegri.

He said: “My trip wasn’t related to Gabriel Jesus, but to other issues that I think you’ve identified.

Branchini revealed that several clubs in Italy have sought information for the Brazilian but no formal negotiations have been held  so far.

“For several months, many clubs have been sounding out the player’s situation to understand Arsenal‘s intentions, numbers and expectations . I’ve had three Italian clubs approach me, and a potential fourth had expressed interest at a time when they seemed on the verge of selling an important striker in the squad.

“They had the possibility of trying the Gabriel card in their head. This is the reality. And I can add that apart from a couple of Turkish clubs, rejected because they weren’t interested in going to Turkey, there haven’t been any other significant negotiations.”

Speaking specifically about Napoli, the agent clarified that the possibility of reaching an agreement with Arsenal is currently remote.

“Dreaming, possibly, is possible under certain conditions that don’t exist at this stage. And to say otherwise is inappropriate for Napoli and for Gabriel Jesus.”
