Aston Villa and Brighton enquire about Roma’s Matias Soule

Serie A side Roma have to make key sales before the end of June and Matias Soule is one of the candidates who can leave the club.

The attacking midfielder didn’t quite make an impact in the second half of the season for Roma. He struggled with an injury and upon his return, couldn’t impress Gian Piero Gasperini.

La Repubblica – via VoceGiallorossa, report that Roma could be open to a sale, if a significant offer is put forward.

Aston Villa and Brighton have come forward for him and have spoken to Soule’s entourage. They would have to offer €40 million for the Argentine and that would only be enough to begin negotiations for the ex-Juventus academy graduate.

Premier League move may help Roma

Soule’s valuation is at a point when Serie A clubs can’t quite afford the Argentine, especially for a permanent deal. This makes Aston Villa and Brighton possibly major candidates to sign him, with both clubs ones that can take his career to the next level.

His recent injury record could be problematic but Aston Villa specifically can hand him Champions League football. That is what Roma will also offer and a move to Birmingham will make sure he keeps operating at the highest level.
