Aston Villa making progress for Parmaโ€™s Zion Suzuki and deal will impact Dibu Martinez

Serie A side Parma appeared close to selling Zion Suzuki to Paris Saint-Germain but a move to Aston Villa is now gathering pace.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that agent demands have made sure that the move to the Ligue 1 side isnโ€™t going through. The player had agreed personal terms and both PSG and Parma had agreed terms over the permanent transfer too.

Now, Aston Villa have matched PSGโ€™s โ‚ฌ35 million offer for the Japan international. They are likely to be a more appealing destination to Suzukiโ€™s entourage and a deal for the Birmingham club could go through soon.

This will also impact Dibu Martinez, who was pursued by Juventus. They had failed to agree terms with Aston Villa for the Argentine but the terms could become more favourable for the Bianconeri as the Villans could seriously consider Martinezโ€™s permanent exit and come down from their โ‚ฌ15 million price.

Juve want to finalise a possible goalkeeping signing in the next 48 hours and Tottenhamโ€™s Guglielmo Vicario is an option. But there is an increasing possibility that Martinez could soon become a better target.
