Bournemouth beat Lazio in move for Hungarian talent Alex Toth

Bournemouth have won the race to sign Ferencvaros midfielder Alex Toth, successfully hijacking a move that appeared destined for Serie A.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Premier League side has overtaken Lazio to secure the signature of the 20-year-old Hungarian talent. The Biancocelesti had been in pole position for some time and had even submitted an official offer to Ferencvaros. However, their proposalโ€”reportedly worth โ‚ฌ10m including add-onsโ€”was deemed insufficient by the Hungarian club, allowing the Cherries to pounce.

Bournemouth moved decisively by presenting more lucrative terms to both the club and the player. Their offer involves a higher fixed fee, totaling โ‚ฌ12m plus bonuses of โ‚ฌ3m, which ultimately convinced Ferencvaros to sanction the move. While Lazio had already found a personal agreement with Tothโ€™s entourage, the midfielder has now green-lit the switch to England, enticed by the project under Andoni Iraola.
