Serie A league leaders Inter are facing an uphill battle in their attempt to hand Carlos Augusto a new deal. There is even a possibility of them losing the Brazilian in the summer.
The wing-back was an important part of the side under Simone Inzaghi last season. Under Cristian Chivu, his prominence has reduced and this is making him reconsider his future.

This has caused frustration and even if Inter have put forward a renewal worth โฌ3.2m per season. His entourage rejected this, as they wait to see which clubs qualify for the Champions League.
Augusto wants to play in the competition before he commits to a club. That is why he is keen on seeing how the league table evolves. He is also monitoring Alessandro Bastoniโs situation as if he leaves, Augusto can fill in easily at left centre-back and act as a replacement for the Italian.
