Cesc Fabregas vocal after Comoโ€™s win over Pisa: โ€œSocial media is killing peopleโ€

Como established themselves firmly in the top four of the Serie A after a dominant win over Pisa on Sunday.

Martin Baturina, Nico Paz, Max Perrone, Assane Diao and Anastasious Douvikas got a goal each, condemning the relegation threatened Pisa to another disastrous defeat, leaving them on the verge of going down to Serie B.

Como boss Cesc Fabregas has often found himself in the middle of controversy in recent weeks. After the game, he appeared quite vocal and also went on to speak about the ill-effects of social media and how emotional he can often get about the game.

He said โ€“ relayed by Corriere dello Sport: โ€œFun is the key word for my Como.ย Social media is killing people, their talent, their character, because they are different people and they need love. A pat on the back.โ€

This led to him talking about he emphasises on his team having fun on the pitch and how the clubโ€™s structure allows for that too.

โ€œWhen I talk about fun, I mean in the responsible sense. In competing, in winning duels, playing the ball and moving. I think the team shows they can do it. We have to continue like this, in an environment where it can be done.

โ€œThe club is strong, the coach has responsibility and if I make a mistake itโ€™s my fault, but the players must feel free to express themselves. Iโ€™m the one who eats sh*t. They must exploit their talent on the pitch.โ€

The Spaniard also went on to lengths about his love for the game and how he can get over-emotional and could speak too much because of that.

โ€œI try to be honest, but that penalizes me. Iโ€™m too honest and I talk too much. I should learn to say the two words everyone wants to hear and go home. But Iโ€™m young and emotional. I have to learn to manage communication through coaching, just as players need to grow through playing. Itโ€™s one thing to be a coach with ninety games of experience, but itโ€™s another when Iโ€™m five hundred. You never stop learning the dynamics.โ€

He revealed having watched Juventusโ€™ game against Sassuolo from an unbiased perspective too.

โ€œJuve? Yes, I watched Juve . We were on retreat, I was alone in my room, I like football. I wasnโ€™t there to support Sassuolo.โ€

As of now, Como are in fourth place and three points clear of both Roma and Juventus, while having a much superior goal difference than both of them.
