Chelsea are looking for a new manager all over again and have been linked with a move for Como boss Cesc Fabregas. The Spaniard has now expressed a desire to stay at the Serie A club.
Como find themselves in a battle for the top four in the Italian top-flight. A couple of weeks ago, they were fourth in the table but the last two games have dented their hopes. The fight is still on but regardless, Fabregas has clearly brought his side a long way.
Ahead of the Liguriansโ tie against Genoa, the ex-Blues midfielder was asked about Chelsea links. He revealed not knowing anything about the talk.
Fabregas said โ via Calciomercato: โI donโt have to say anything because I havenโt heard anything from the president. You say that, but I donโt know anything about it.โ
The Como manager clarified the Chelsea talk isnโt important to him right now.
โIt would be stupid to think about things that arenโt important now, because this isnโt important to me: the most important thing is Genoa, the next match, and we want to do everything we can to win.โ
He also revealed he will probably stay with the lakeside club beyond the season.
โI think Iโll continue as Comoโs coach: my experience as a player gives me peace of mind.โ
This is not the first time Fabregas has dismissed the London club, having done the same after Enzo Marescaโs exit some months ago.
