Crystal Palace playing hardball in Milan’s move for Jean-Philippe Mateta

AC Milan’s pursuit of Jean-Philippe Mateta has hit a significant roadblock as Crystal Palace begin to play hardball in the final hours of the transfer window.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Rossoneri have already secured a total agreement with both the English club and the player himself. Mateta is extremely keen on the move to San Siro and has been pushing for the transfer to be finalized since Milan’s decisive hijack on Thursday night.

However, the operation is currently on stand-by because Crystal Palace have yet to secure a direct replacement for the French striker. Despite the existing agreements on the transfer figures and personal terms, the Eagles are hesitant to sign the definitive documents until they have a new forward in the building.

This delay is causing tension in the closing stages of the market, as Milan are eager to integrate the striker into Max Allegri’s squad immediately. While the player continues to wait for the green light to fly to Italy, the move now depends entirely on Palace’s ability to find a successor before the deadline.
