Curtis Jones reveals why he wanted Liverpool exit for Inter move

Serie A side Inter had been pursuing a move for Liverpoolโ€™s Curtis Jones for many months now and they have finally sealed the deal. The Englishman has been announced as a Nerazzurri player in a move that couldโ€™ve easily gone through towards the end of January.

The midfielder spoke to Inter TV about the transfer and he hinted at the reasons behind why he was so keen on the move.

He said โ€“ via FCInterNews: โ€œIโ€™m a Liverpool boy, a Scouser, and Iโ€™ve spent my whole life there. At this point in my career, however, I wanted to take a step further: I think this is the perfect club to do that.โ€

Jones noted that he was left enamoured by Inter, when Liverpool took them on in the Champions League. This motivated him to make the jump to the Italian champions.

โ€œI think the feelings I felt last year when I faced the Nerazzurri in the Champions League were crucial, because of the passion Inter fans have for the team. Of course, we can also talk about the trophies, the clubโ€™s history, and the great players who have worn this shirt.โ€

Jones revealed that the passion of the Inter has been key in convincing him that Inter is the right club for his development at this point of his career.

โ€œThe fansโ€™ passion, however, was decisive: I was on the pitch at San Siro and I could clearly hear how much they were singing and cheering the players. I come from Liverpool and Iโ€™ve always been used to feeling the love and support of the fans; Iโ€™ve always felt this strong connection. I hope I can create a special bond with Inter fans too.โ€

Jones add new spark to Inter

Jones offers Inter more technical ability than the departed Davide Frattesi. He can conduct play, take pressure off Nicolo Barella and Hakan Calhanoglu and become what they once had in Henrikh Mkhitaryan, as a ball-carrying outlet in the heart of the park.
