Edoardo Boveโ€™s Watford contract set to have unique gentlemanโ€™s agreement

Edoardo Bove is set to resume his career in England after signing a multi-year contract with Watford, following the mutual termination of his deal with Roma.

According to Il Messaggero (via LaRoma24), the Italian midfielder is expected to make his debut for the Championship side in about a monthโ€™s time. The move follows a difficult period for Bove, who was unable to continue playing in Italy due to regulations regarding the subcutaneous defibrillator implanted after his cardiac arrest in December 2024.

The transfer to Watford was influenced significantly by the clubโ€™s state-of-the-art medical center, which played a key role in reassuring the player about the move. While Bove has committed to a long-term project at Vicarage Road, the contract reportedly includes a gentlemanโ€™s agreement that would allow him to depart should a top-tier club make an approach for his services in the future.

With Roma releasing a touching statement wishing their โ€˜son of Romeโ€™ the best, Bove now prepares to start a new chapter in London, where the rules surrounding his condition allow him to continue chasing his professional dreams.
