Fenerbahce make offer for Lazio’s Matteo Guendouzi

Lazio risk losing another key pillar of their squad this winter, with Fenerbahçe launching a formal assault for Matteo Guendouzi. According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the Turkish giants have submitted an official offer to the Biancocelesti as they look to capitalize on the current upheaval in the capital.

Notably, this development comes just as Lazio are finalizing the sale of Taty Castellanos to West Ham for €30 million. Indeed, the Argentine striker has already arrived in London for his medical, but Maurizio Sarri may soon have to deal with the departure of his midfield engine as well. Furthermore, Fenerbahçe face stiff competition for the Frenchman’s signature, with Premier League sides Sunderland and Newcastle also credited with strong interest.

Consequently, the Roman club finds itself in a precarious position despite the significant cash influx from the Castellanos deal. While the funds could be used to pursue targets like Ruben Loftus-Cheek, losing Guendouzi would leave a massive void in the center of the pitch. As the January window begins to heat up, Lazio fans are left wondering if the squad will emerge from the month stronger or significantly depleted.
