Fiorentina considering David de Geaโ€™s sale

Fiorentina may be looking to move David de Gea on, as per Viola News.

The veteran Spaniardโ€™s performances have come under scrutiny in recent weeks amid another run of underwhelming form from the Viola. His wages (โ‚ฌ5.56 million per year gross) are another concern, and could further push the club to move him on for a price; given he was a free agent, making a profit on his sale would be that much more lucrative.

Firenze boss Paolo Vanoli has publicly defended his numero uno, having said last Friday, โ€œDe Gea is my captain, thereโ€™s no question about it.โ€ However, the management is already looking at other options.

Young Tommaso Martinelli, on loan at second-tier Avellino for the season, could be considered for the main role come the end of the season based on how things pan out for him in Serie B.

River Plate starlet Santiago Beltrรกn is also on their radar; River want around โ‚ฌ20 million for the 22-year-old whose contract expires next December, though he is also attracting interest from Inter as well as clubs from the Premier League and the German Bundesliga.

Lazioโ€™s Christos Mandas, currently on loan at Bournemouth, is also a candidate, and an impressive campaign for the Cherries could prime him for a starting role going into next season.
