Gian Piero Gasperini after Romaโ€™s loss to Como: โ€œPointless to commentโ€

Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini appeared annoyed after his side picked up a 2-1 loss to Como in the Serie A and lost ground on the race to the Champions League.

Wesleyโ€™s second half red card completely changed the game for Roma. They had been leading in the first half through an early Donyell Malen penalty but goals from Anastasious Douvikas and Diego Carlos turned things around after the Brazilianโ€™s sending off.

Gasperini spoke to DAZN about the defeat and seemed annoyed about things turned out, refusing to delve too much into the result.

He said โ€“ relayed by Corriere dello Sport: โ€œIโ€™ve already seen it all, Iโ€™ve already commented on other occasions, but itโ€™s pointless to comment on this moment in football, especially on the simulations.โ€

โ€œThis is a tough episode, like the one that led to the equalizer, because we knew they were good at making these cuts and dealing with the goalkeeperโ€™s long balls, which we had defended well.โ€

He appeared to take a shot at the refereeing in the game too, clarifying that his side did look tired after a point in the tie as Malen missed a big chance to make it 2-0 before things went awry.

โ€œPerhaps we were a bit tired before the Malen incident that could have put us back in front. We do our part, and these are also egregious incidents.โ€

Como are now three points ahead of Roma in the Champions League race. Juve are at fifth, with things increasingly looking interesting in the Serie A.
