Serie A side Milan lost to Ferencvaros in the Europa League on Thursday and despite their win over Inter at the weekend, it is clear they need defensive reinforcements that suit Ruben Amorim’s system.
Sporting star Goncalo Inacio’s name was on the shortlist in the summer and he is likely to be their priority in January.
Tuttomercatoweb report that Milan are prioritising improving their backline and Inacio is at the top of their shortlist now. He isn’t expected to be an easy target considering the defender’s high valuation but the Rossoneri will still try, as they’re hopeful that an agreement can be reached in the winter.
Borussia Dortmund’s Luca Reggiani is also on the shortlist and so is young Massire Sylla.
Inacio deal could become easier
In the summer, Milan dealt very closely with Jorge Mendes, who can help in the deal for Inacio. He represents the defender and has a good relationship with Gerry Cardinale. This connection will be key in bringing all parties together for an agreement.
