Serie A side Milan are nearing the appointment of Ruben Amorim and it is likely that his arrival can impact the situation of Rafael Leao.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the Portuguese will indeed stick to his usual 3-4-2-1 system. They note how he is a hard-line manager who demands very specific players for his system.
Amidst all of it, wide attackers are a big part of his style. They are the players who must provide numerical superiority and act, when necessary, as additional attackers.
This is where Leao can come in. He has expressed a desire to leave the club but there is every chance no offers come forward for him. So far, that has been the case. Despite initial discussions, no clubs have stepped forward.
If that remains the case, Leao can offer value to Amorim’s system in a wide number ten spot.
Move can change Leao’s career
Under Allegri, Leao couldn’t always find his right position. He often played as a striker and it didn’t help him. Even in a left-wing role, he was often quite deep.
Under Amorim, he will be in a central role that will be in the middle of what Allegri tried. It can be a tactical game-changer and potentially convince him into staying, if no clubs come forward.
