Inter are currently awaiting a formal approach from Galatasaray for Hakan Calhanoglu, as the midfielder’s future in Milan looks increasingly uncertain.
According to Calciomercato, the player’s family continues to push for a move to the Turkish giants, adding significant external pressure to the situation. This comes after contract negotiations with the Nerazzurri hit a standstill at the end of 2025. A major sticking point remains the club’s desire for Calhanoglu to accept a wage reduction, given his status as the squad’s second-highest earner.
To date, no agreement on a salary cut has been reached, prompting Inter to set a firm valuation for his departure. While Galatasaray offered €10m last summer, the Italian champions now demand a higher figure to sanction a sale. Internally, the management has already identified a successor, with Aleksandar Stankovic viewed as the natural replacement to step into the midfield role.
As the summer window approaches, the divide between Calhanoglu’s financial demands and Inter’s new wage policy suggests a parting of ways is becoming the most likely outcome.
