Interโ€™s Beppe Marotta denies any negotiations for Romaโ€™s Evan Ndicka

Serie A side Inter have been linked with a host of defenders across the transfer window so far. At the weekend, reports spoke of their interest in Romaโ€™s Evan Ndicka.

The Giallorossi are having a tricky period from a financial standpoint due to their squabbles with FFP. They have to record capital gains by the end of June to avoid sanctions or a significant fine.

That was the context of the suggestions around Ndicka.

Now, Inter CEO Beppe Marotta was at the Lega Serie A meeting which saw Giovanni Malago get appointed as the new FIGC President. The Nerazzurri chief was asked about whether Inter are keen on Ndicka and if any discussions have been held.

Denying the claims, he said โ€“ via TMW: โ€œNdicka? We didnโ€™t do anything, we didnโ€™t seek him out. If you ask me if weโ€™re negotiating with him, Iโ€™d say definitely not.โ€

Decision makes sense

Ndickaโ€™s signing makes little sense if Inter keep hold of Alessandro Bastoni. He would be a direct replacement but for now, there is no direct need for the Ivorian and there may not be a direct spot for him in the side.

He should ideally go to a club where is a starter and he may not be that at Inter.
