Juventus and Tottenham in Guglielmo Vicario talks, loan possible

Juventus are continuing their evaluation for a new goalkeeper, and a significant new development has emerged involving Tottenham Hotspur’s Guglielmo Vicario.

While the Bianconeri recently made an inquiry for Zion Suzuki, who is valued at around €30 million and has interest in the Premier League, direct contacts have progressed with Spurs regarding Vicario, as per Alfredo Pedulla.

With negotiations for Aston Villa’s Emiliano ‘Dibu’ Martinez proving difficult, the two clubs have been actively speaking, and talks are progressing positively. In a notable shift, Tottenham have shown a possible openness to letting the Italian goalkeeper leave on a loan deal that would include an option to buy. Vicario is understood to be highly keen on the move back to Serie A, and his salary demand stands at around €4 million per season, which would represent an upgrade on his current wages in North London.

Vicario is Juve’s best option

o looks to be Juventus’ best bet as they look to solidify their options between the sticks. Given that a deal for Dibu Martinez is complicated and Zion Suzuki commands a heavy €30 million price tag, securing the former Empoli man on an initial loan is incredibly sensible. He is a significantly cheaper alternative, is clearly eager to make the switch, and his €4 million salary demand is a reasonable figure that fits comfortably within Juve’s wage structure.
