Juventus have accelerated their pursuit of Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, with the Frenchman now closing in on a move to Turin this month.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Bianconeri held intensive new rounds of talks on Friday with both the playerโs entourage and the Eaglesโ management. Juventus are working to finalize a deal during this transfer window to bolster their attacking options, following the green light given by coach Luciano Spalletti.
While negotiations over the final fee continueโwith Palaceโs valuation hovering around โฌ30mโthe London club is already preparing for life after Mateta. The Eagles have reportedly identified Sidiki Cherif as their primary replacement to fill the void in attack should the Frenchman depart for Serie A.
Even if the France international joins Juve, the Bianconeri would still look to pursue a move for Daniel Maldini and he isnโt an alternative to the striker.
