Juventus reject West Ham approach for Federico Gatti

Juventus have stood firm in the final hours of the transfer window by rejecting a late move from West Ham for Federico Gatti.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Premier League side attempted to prize the Italian international away from Turin, but the Bianconeri management immediately slammed the door shut on any potential negotiation.

The decision to keep Gatti is primarily linked to the clubโ€™s movement elsewhere in the defensive department. Juventus have already sanctioned the departure of Daniele Rugani, who is set to join Fiorentina, and the clubโ€™s hierarchy had no intention of parting ways with another center-back so close to the deadline.

Gatti will add much-needed depth to Luciano Spallettiโ€™s side, having previously been linked with a move to the Premier League too. The defender recently returned to fitness after a meniscus injury, which should in itself be a red flag for West Ham.
