Serie A side Inter saw Liverpool come forward for Denzel Dumfries late in the January transfer window but the player stayed put. This may not be possible in the summer, when the competition could increase.
Niccolo Ceccarini reports that signing a right wing-back is becoming a neccessity for the Nerazzurri. This is mainly because of Dumfries, who has a release clause worth โฌ25 million that will expire on 15th July this year.
Liverpool could come back in the fray for the Netherlands international but even Manchester United are now interested. This is why Inter are making preparations to replace the 29-year-old, with Atalantaโs Marco Palestra viewed as the ideal target.
La Dea ideally want to keep him but if suitors offer โฌ40 million, they will seriously consider the youngsterโs sale in the summer. Inter arenโt entirely confident but are willing to give the move a shot, especially if they earn a fee from Dumfriesโ exit.
As things stand, it would depend entirely on whether Manchester United or Liverpool actually trigger the ex-PSV playerโs release clause.
