Liverpool have made contact with Inter to explore the possibility of signing Denzel Dumfries in a late-window move.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Premier League side has submitted an initial enquiry to gather information on the Dutch wing-back. The interest stems from the recent injury suffered by Jeremie Frimpong, who was forced off with a hamstring problem during Liverpoolโs midweek Champions League victory over Qarabag.
Any concrete movement for Dumfries will depend heavily on the final diagnosis of Frimpongโs condition. If the injury proves to be long-term, Arne Slotโs side could accelerate their pursuit of the 29-year-old, whose physicality and European experience are highly regarded at Anfield.
Inter, meanwhile, are already assessing the market for potential replacements in case a super offer arrives, with Genoaโs Brooke Norton-Cuffy identified as a primary target to fill the void. While Dumfries is nearing a return from his own recent injury layoff, the situation remains fluid as the deadline approaches.
