Liverpoolโ€™s Federico Chiesa eyeing mid-season Italy return as clubs line up

As reported by TUTTOmercatoWEB, Atalanta, Inter, and Lazio are eyeing up a move for Liverpoolโ€™s Federico Chiesa, who is keen to return to Italy.

A homecoming has practically been on the cards for Chiesa ever since his move to Anfield. During his time at Merseyside, Italyโ€™s Euro 2020 hero has struggled for fitness and game time, managing only five goals and assists each in 51 appearances. He has recently returned from a back injury.

Chiesaโ€™s Liverpool contract runs until June 2028, though itโ€™s his wages that could prove to be a challenge for those pursuing him.

High-flying Lazio in particular may find it hard to match his โ‚ฌ6m-per-year Liverpool contract, while his complicated relationship with Cristiano Giuntoli during their time at Juve could make a move to Atalanta tricky to materialise.

That leaves Inter, though they may only make a move if Luis Henrique departs in January.

Regardless of where he eventually lands, Chiesaโ€™s exit from Liverpool and return to Italy is only a matter of time, and it could happen as soon as this January.
