Serie A side Roma have been facing the possibility of losing Lorenzo Pellegrini in the last few months. The idea is now fading away, with the midfielder nearing a possible renewal.
The playerโs current deal runs out at the end of the campaign. For weeks, there had been no signs of him signing another contract, with other clubs already sniffing around for him.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that things can now change and it is largely down to Gian Piero Gasperiniโs influence and the Friedkin ownershipโs desire to please him.
Since yesterday, the possibility of Pellegrini staying beyond this season has skyrocketed. His relationship with Gasperini has been quite strong and it has only developed across the campaign, with Pellegrini also making a mark on the pitch.
Because of this, the Friedkins are prepared to move forward with a renewal. The midfielder too would take a wage cut, aware that he isnโt the same player that he was and canโt command the same wage of around โฌ6 million per season.
