Serie A side Juventus have seen winger Francisco Conceicao get linked with a move to Liverpool, who will soon need a replacement for Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian is leaving the Reds in the summer, with the Portugal international constantly mentioned as a target fo Arne Slotโs side. Whether a formal move is made for Conceicao remains to be seen but Juventus boss Luciano Spalletti was asked about the left-footed attacker.
This came after Conceicao did well in Juveโs 2-0 win over Genoa on Tuesday.
Spalletti told Sky โ via TMW: โItโs a fair comparison. Francisco is young, he has a lot of experience to gain, and he needs to convince himself that he can play a bit inside.โ
Spalletti went on to suggest some improvements in the Portugueseโs approach to game that can take him to the next level.
โHaving a man behind him shouldnโt make him feel as anxious as you can see. If he receives the ball on the outside and faces you, heโs unmarkable. In seven or eight situations, he creates seven or eight potential threats. Then he needs to improve his decision-making and develop the ability in one-on-one situations to understand if thereโs someone I can pass to.
The Italian described Conceicao as one of the best wingers he has ever worked with.
โHeย does things one at a time every now and then, but as a winger, heโs one of the best Iโve seen. He needs to improve his shooting on goal. Salah is a total wreck; he has intensity and ferocity, itโs hard to keep him down. He also created some crucial balls today.โ
It is fair to say that while Spalletti is saying what he is to keep the ex-Porto player satisfied. After all, Conceicao does have weaknesses and he hasnโt always been consistent. That is one aspect of his game that has to improve, if he takes a step to Liverpool.
