Serie A side Roma take on Manchester United next week in what will be a huge Champions League game. Not too long ago, it would have felt like the Giallorossi would go into the side in a depleted shape but there are positive signs emerging from the Italian capital.
Corriere dello Sport report that Paulo Dybala has returned to full training and he is expected to be on the bench for the tie against Cagliari. But he could be fit enough to start against Manchester United, with La Joya seen as a key player by Gian Piero Gasperini.
It doesn’t end there, as Manu Kone can also return to action at Old Trafford. Il Messaggero – via AllRoma, note that the Frenchman has set that tie as his goal to return to full fitness, having picked up a muscle issue against Real Madrid.
There are good signs about Mile Svilar’s fitness too. Gasperini spoke to the press today and was quizzed about the goalkeeper, whose injury meant Pierluigi Gollini had been the starting stopper for three games.
Gasperini said – via SiamoLaRoma: “Svilar, on the other hand, could make some progress this week, around Thursday or Friday.”
“He could therefore be fit for next week, but that remains to be seen. Let’s hope so, because having him available for the Manchester match would be ideal, or for the match against Sassuolo.”
