Serie A side Roma have qualified for the Champions League but this may not stop them from being forced into Manu Koneโs sale.
Inter have previously been keen on the Frenchman, who has been one of the Giallorossiโs best players in the last two campaigns. The Nerazzurri appear much more keen on landing Curtis Jones but Koneโs future remains uncertain.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that incoming sporting director Tony DโAmicoโs first major task at Roma will be to conduct sales. This is because they are under the scanner of Financial Fairplay and need to earn โฌ60 million in capital gains to stay within their limits.
As a result, Kone is a key candidate to leave. It is believed the midfielder has had his mind away from Rome lately. This was apparent when he was training all alone ahead of the game against Verona, when he couldโve easily trained with the rest of the team.
Roma see this as a sign that an exit is seen as likely even for Kone, who is liked by both Inter and PSG. Gian Piero Gasperiniโs side value him at โฌ50 million as this will go down as a major capital gain, with the player weighing โฌ11 million on the clubโs accounts right now.
Given Romaโs need to sell, they could even settle for around โฌ40 million plus bonuses.

Roma have no choice
The way things are going, Kone is probably Romaโs most expensive asset. Manu Svilar is probably just as valuable but he hasnโt shown any signs of wanting to leave, which says a lot right now. Evan Ndicka has a high value too and alongside Kone, he is also a major candidate to leave, as he joined on a free transfer.
With the World Cup coming up, the Frenchmanโs value could yet increase. This is what Gasperini will hope for, as they would also soon need a replacement.
