Serie A side Napoli have been pursuing a move for Maurizio Sarri for many days now and he was viewed as a replacement for Antonio Conte. Theyโre now expected to meet defeat, with Atalanta closing in on his appointment.
The Italian was stuck in a tug of war between the two clubs. Napoli handed him an offer but La Dea held a meeting to rush him into a decision.
Alfredo Pedulla now reports that that he is expected to end up as the next Atalanta manager. He will have a meeting with Lazio CEO Claudio Lotito on Thursday to iron out details of his exit.
La Dea have prepared a two-year deal with the option for a third year and are offering Sarri a wage of around โฌ3 million per season. This seems enough, with the deal expected to go through soon.

Deal brave but sensible
Many can turn up their noses at the fact that Sarri isnโt joining his former club in Napoli. But moving to Atalanta makes sense because of the presence of Cristiano Guintoli.
He was close to Sarri during their time at Napoli, which will help the manager a lot at this point of his career. The spell at Lazio saw him often find himself lacking support and this can change in Bergamo, who always have a project in mind that relies on attacking and progressive football. Sarri will get the right platform to execute his ideas.
