Milan boss Ruben Amorim backs Christian Pulisic to make a mark

Serie A side Milan havenโ€™t seen Christian Pulisic feature this season but his time could soon come. Manager Ruben Amorim has now backed the USA international to succeed and make a mark under his tutelage.

In the second half of last season, the attacker didnโ€™t score a single goal under Max Allegril. This rough patch of form followed him at the World Cup and an injury also derailed his pre-season at Milan.

The Rossoneri take on Lazio tomorrow and Amorim was asked about his thoughts regarding the attacker.

He made it clear that Pulisic canโ€™t wait to play, as he is sullen about not having played so far this season.

He said โ€“ via CM, confirming he will get some minutes against Lazio: โ€œYouโ€™ll see him tomorrow, I donโ€™t know if heโ€™ll start or play during the game. I think heโ€™ll play a few minutes. I really like him as a player. Heโ€™s angry because heโ€™s had zero minutes so far, and I like that about my players; heโ€™s sullen.โ€

Amorim also went on to show how committed he is to the project and it wonโ€™t change for anyone.

โ€œDonโ€™t forget he had an injury in the summer, and then in the first training session he had a knock and stopped. I wonโ€™t remove anyone whoโ€™s doing well just to name a player. This is my way of managing the group, and Iโ€™ll die with these principles. Pulisic is very important to me.ย

โ€œAfter the international break, there are eight weeks with three games a week: everyone will be tired from all the playing time. Pulisic is important and will play a lot of games. But you have to understand the context and my history to understand why I make certain choices. But youโ€™ll see Pulisic starting this weekend.โ€

Pulisicโ€™s return will come as a big boost for Milan, who have had to rely on goals from young Alpha Cisse. The talent will have an experienced player along with him to carry the attack.
