Serie A side Milan are yet to find the right suitor for Rafael Leao, with a war involving Galatasaray and Fenerbahce still ongoing. In the meantime, it appears as though Gala could yet have a chance at signing the Portuguese.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that earlier today, Fenerbahce had a meeting with Milan about the player. It was largely interlocutory, with the Turkish side yet to make a formal offer for the player. The Rossoneri have clarified โฌ50 million is needed to sign the player but Fenerbahce are yet to meet that valuation.
This is largely because they are waiting to take on Gornik Zabrze in the second leg of the second qualifying round of the Champions League, after winning the first leg 1-0 in Turkey. This will be followed by a potential third qualifying round match against Sturm Graz and a potential playoff. Qualifying would, of course, bring in money and strengthened ambitions on the transfer market.
But in the meantime, this gives Galatasaray the chance to make in-roads over a deal. They arenโt planning to sign him right away and would likely make advances in the second-half of August. They would want to take advantage of Milanโs panic at trying to sell the player, especially if Fenerbahce fail to close their move by then.
