Numbers behind Bremer’s importance to Juventus

Juventus’ 5–0 win over Cremonese once again showed the importance of Gleison Bremer. The Brazilian centre-back set the tone by scoring the opening goal and delivering another commanding performance at the back.

Since his return in mid-December against Bologna, Juventus have collected five wins and one draw, conceding just two goals in that run. Looking at a wider timeframe, the numbers are even more impressive: Juventus have gone 628 days without defeat when Bremer has been on the pitch.

Against Cremonese, Bremer was decisive at both ends of the field. He completed over 90 percent of his passes, won the majority of his duels, and led the team for tackles and defensive actions. Just as importantly, he committed no fouls and was never beaten in a one-on-one situation, underlining his control and timing in defence.

Bremer’s physical strength and reading of the game give Juventus a solid base to build from. With him anchoring the back line, the team looks more secure and better organised, limiting space and cutting out danger early.

That has become his trademark since his arrival at the Bianconeri from Torino. The club’s backline has had a fair share of instability for quite a while but every time he steps onto the pitch, Bremer shows his worth.
