Milan have finally reached a total agreement to extend the contract of Mike Maignan, resolving the final bureaucratic hurdles following months of intense negotiations.
According to Daniele Longo, the Rossoneri management has successfully navigated the last remaining obstacle concerning the commissions due to the Frenchmanโs agent, Jonathan Kebe. With these details settled, the club is expected to officially announce the renewal within the next 7 to 10 days.
The numbers behind the deal reflect Maignanโs status as one of the worldโs elite goalkeepers. The 30-year-old will sign a new five-year contract, securing his future at the San Siro until June 2031. Financially, the agreement consists of salary of โฌ5.5 million per season, which includes performances-related bonuses of โฌ1.5 million.
This salary hike places Maignan alongside Rafael Leao as the highest earner in the Milan squad. The arrival of Massimiliano Allegri and the appointment of Claudio Filippi as goalkeeping coach are cited as significant factors in Maignanโs decision to commit his long-term future to the club.
