Premier League outfits Aston Villa and Crystal Palace make official inquiries for a possible signing of Juventus’ Jonathan David.
According to a report by TMW, the Bianconeri might be tempted to part ways with David this summer as Villa and Palace are expected to send offers soon following inquiries. Both of the Premier League sides have gained a preliminary knowledge of the Canadian striker’s situation at Juventus, demonstrating their clear interest in his signature.
A transfer battle between two English clubs is a prime prospect for the Serie A side to inflate the former Lille forward’s price and register a significant profit after bringing him to the club for free last summer. David cost Juventus a total of €12.5million in commission and fees, and anything above that amount will mean a gain in the Italian side’s accounting records.
What is the main issue that Premier League sides have to consider
While interest from the Premier League looms, the 26-year-old’s salary of €6million net per season plus bonuses remains a problem for any potential buyer. The Old Lady do not expect a straightforward permanent transfer offer for David, and they might have to cover a part of his salary or introduce a loan with the obligation to buy to facilitate the deal.
Luciano Spalletti is aiming to deal with his attackers in a certain way so as not to dismantle the entire department. Dušan Vlahović’s contract renewal remains uncertain, Loïs Openda is set to leave the club, and therefore, David’s future at the club will be assessed after the developments from the other players in his position.
