Rafael Leao has spoken further on his expected AC Milan departure. Over in Brazil, when attending an event for his clothing brand, the Portuguese touched on his footballing future.
โWeโd already talked to the Rossoneri about the possibility of going elsewhere. But as long as Iโm with them, Iโll give it my all.โ
Following the World Cup, and ahead of a scheduled return to the Milanello training camp, Leaoโs group have reportedly already been negotiating with Fenerbahce.
Chatting on the Brazilian podcast โPodpahโ, Leao explained his current relationship with the Rossoneri. โIโve already spoken to the club about the possibility of trying a new experience. I donโt know if it will happen. I have to report to Milanello on the 29th, and while Iโm there, Iโll give my all, always respecting the club that has given me everything.โ
Despite registering nine goals and three assists in Serie A, Leao had an admittedly inconsistent season in red and black. Such was the steadily growing rift between the player and club that the 27-year-old had already expressed thoughts of leaving in early June.
That said, even in a tumultuous period, Leao is staying grateful to his home of seven seasons. โI think itโs a club that has helped me a lot in every way, but in life, you have ambitions for other things too. If it happens, Iโll study my options, but Iโll remain an AC Milan player.โ
