As reported by Correire dello Sport, Juventus are backing Gleison Bremer despite his error at the back against Verona, though an exit is still a possibility.
The usually reliable Brazil international was the chief culprit in the lead-up to Hellasโ goal at the weekend. It was his misplaced pass that led to Kieron Bowie giving the relegated Gialloblรน a shock lead.
Even though they were able to claw back into the game and snatch a point, the two dropped points have left the door open for fifth-placed Roma and six-placed Como to steal the fourth place from the Old Lady with three rounds of fixtures remaining, with the Derby della Mole set to bring the curtains down on Juveโs campaign this term.
His error on the weekend further marked what has been a trying campaign for Bremer. The 29-year old returned from his cruciate ligament tear last summer, though a meniscus injury and further muscular issues have hindered his attempts to return to peak fitness levels. Across all competitions, he has made just 29 appearances this season.
Despite his recent setbacks, Juve are keen on continuing with him as their leader at the back, though a summer exit from the Allianz Stadium is far from unlikely.
The 29-year-old has a โฌ58m release clause in his โฌ9,26m-per-year contract, which has three more years remaining. That release clause, however, will only be active between August 1 and 10 later this year, after which any potential suitor will have to negotiate with the club.
Liverpool are the latest name heavily linked with Bremer. There happens to be another reason why the Brazil international can depart and that is his thirst for silverware.
He made that clear in a chat with the media recently, probably casting more doubts about his future. It was also a warning that if Juve donโt compete for silverware from next season onwards, Bremer will start considering his options.
