Roma pushing to sign Tottenhamโ€™s Radu Dragusin

Roma are ramping up their pursuit of Tottenham defender Radu Dragusin as Gian Piero Gasperini looks to solidify his backline for the second half of the season. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Giallorossi have initiated fresh contacts with Spurs in the last few hours to understand the feasible figures and structure of a potential January deal.

Notably, Romaโ€™s interest in the Romanian international has transformed into a concrete push, with the club now working to find common ground on the transfer price. Beyond club-to-club discussions, there has also been direct contact with the playerโ€™s entourage to gauge his willingness for a return to Serie A. Furthermore, Dragusin is reportedly tempted by the move to the capital as a way to revive his career following a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to a serious cruciate ligament injury.

Indeed, the former Genoa and Juventus man only recently returned to the Tottenham squad at the end of December, but he remains high on Romaโ€™s shortlist alongside other targets like Joshua Zirkzee and Giacomo Raspadori. While Spurs have yet to make a final decision on whether to sanction a loan or a permanent exit, Roma are pushing hard to accelerate the operation and provide Gasperini with a physically dominant presence in defense.

Consequently, the next few days will be crucial as both parties try to bridge the gap in valuation. With Dragusin already familiar with the Italian top flight, Roma view him as a โ€œready-madeโ€ solution who can integrate immediately into the squad as they chase a Champions League spot.
