Serie A Roma look quite close to losing Paulo Dybala on a free transfer in the summer, with the player himself having confirmed that he could be playing the last Rome derby of his career in a matter of days.
But it seems like the matter is far from settled.ย
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that Dybalaโs agent is in Rome and is still hoping for some movement. The Argentine has expressed a desire to accept a major wage reduction to stay at the Giallorossi and is simply waiting for signals from Roma about the same.
That hasnโt quite arrived but the Friedkins are expected to be in the Italian capital in the next few days. That is why there is a possibility of a contract renewal with a low wage and bonuses on the basis of appearances made.ย
Gian Piero Gasperini is convinced Dybala can be useful and wouldnโt oppose a renewal.

Low wage deal will make sense
The Argentine offers value whenever he starts or plays often. This has been the case for at least two seasons, even if Dybala isnโt as fit as he once was.
That is why a new deal on low wages will make a lot of sense. Dybala also probably understands his own limitations and he is willing to adapt to make sure that the club accomodates that.
