Serie A side Napoli have been without Scott McTominay over their last few games, which has clearly impacted their form. But they now have good news, which can give the side a real lift.
The Scotsman underwent heart surgery after doctors discovered him to be suffering from benign arrythmia. This also led to him not being available for the Scottish international team during the recent international break.
La Gazzetta dello Sport now note that McTominay underwent a fresh medical examination recently and he has passed it with flying colours. This gives him permission to train with the Napoli squad, which comes as a relief for Max Allegri, who has seen several players get ruled out due to injury.
There is now a chance the midfielder can feature in the upcoming Serie A game against Frosinone. He is expected to be on the bench as there are signs he should be fit to play some minutes.
His long-term future at Napoli remains under doubt, though. The midfielder has made a hefty demand to renew his contract, which is likely to be out of the Partenopeiโs reach.
