Serie A giants Juventus have been desperate to sign Bolognaโs Jhon Lucumi and their attempts for the defender are now intensifying.
La Gazzetta dello Sport that while there is an impasse between the two clubs for the South American, Teun Koopmeiners could hold the key.
This is because Bologna have asked for the Dutchman as part of Juveโs move for Lucumi. They are currently unable to reduce the fee to what Juventus want because they are due a 20% sell-on clause to Genk, who sold Lucumi to Bologna.
Juve are open to selling Koopmeiners. There have been simply enquiries from the Premier League but no major offers have been made.
Besides, Bologna sporting director Giovanni Sartori was key to bringing the Netherlands international to Italy during his time at Atalanta. He has also spoken to his brother โ Peer, about his own move to Bologna. This can play an important role, even if Juve find the idea of including the older Koopmeiners in a move for Lucumi quite complicated.
But it is a possibility which can take hold later in the window.
