The commanding stat leaving Juventus’ Gleison Bremer in a league of his own

Glesion Bremer was Juventus’ saviour once again on opening day after his 22nd-minute header earned his side all three point against Frosinone.

The Brazil international has now headed in 11 of last 12 goals scored. No other player Europe’s top five league has scored more since the start of the 2022/23 season — only Virgil van Dijk has matched this tally with 11 headed goals of his own.

This reinforces once again the extent to which the Bianconeri rely on Bremer both in front of their goal and on the other end of the pitch. After a long summer that constantly linked him with moves away from the club, they will hope no late offer arrives before deadline day to throw a spanner in the works.

Over the course of the summer, Bremer has been linked with Premier League sides Liverpool, Man United, and Spurs, as well as German heavyweights Bayern and reigning Turkish champions Galatasaray. Few weeks ago, he was even subject to interest from Inter.

Valued by Transfermarkt at €35 million, the 29-year-old has three more years remaining on his Juve contract, which fetches him a gross annual salary of €9.26 million.
