What is behind Juventusโ€™ interest in Romaโ€™s Evan Ndicka

Romaโ€™s Evan Ndicka has been one of Serie Aโ€™s best defenders in the last few seasons. He has been a constant for the Giallorossi, barely facing injury worries and has now established himself as a leader in the backline too.

Unfortunately, Roma have to meet Financial Fairplay conditions and have to make major capital gains by the end of June.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report Ndickaโ€™s exit will help them achieve that. Juve are interested in the Ivorian, with Luciano Spalletti keen on a reliable left-footed defender that helps the team build from the back in an effective way.

The idea is Ndicka would play alongside Bremer and rotate with Lloyd Kelly, who has done well this season. But the Ivorian is seen as a better player and he would be more of a regular.

Ndicka has an affordable salary and his knowledge of the Serie A makes sure he is viewed as a very good target. โ‚ฌ40 million is Romaโ€™s current price-tag due to their troubles with FFP, with Barcelona also interested.

Juveโ€™s candidacy could be enriched, with Teun Koopmeiners a candidate to be included in the deal.
