Serie A side Juventus appeared keen on selling Teun Koopmeiners this summer but they eventually ended up keeping the player. The decision isnโt something the Old Lady regret.
There were several rumours surrounding the Dutchman, with other Italian clubs also interested and linked with him at one point.
La Gazzetta dello Sport report that several Serie A sides tried to convince Koopmeiners and Juve for a late transfer. But his perception in Turin changed, with his goal against Parma having played a part in that.
But beyond that, his status has become more โsecureโ than uncertain. This is largely because the Old Lady parted ways with Fabio Miretti, who joined Besiktas, Vasilije Adzic joined Sassuolo and the news surrounding Khephren Thuramโs long-term absence also rocked the Bianconeri.
Juve believed selling Koopmeiners would leave them very light in midfield, even if they signed Pape Sarr from Tottenham.
On Tuesday, Besiktas made a late approach to sign Koopmeiners. This was quickly rejected but in August, two Premier League and Galatasaray also made moves. But none of them convinced Juve or the player, which also played a part in him staying in Turin.
