Parma point penalty scrapped and Calaió suspension reduced

Last month Parma were handed a five-point deduction to begin the new season and Emanuele Calaió was given a two-year suspension.

This ruling was in regards to the final Serie B playoff match in which Parma defeated Spezia.

After appealing, both decisions have been reduced.

The FIGC released a statement saying Parma’s point penalty has been reduced to a €20,000 fine while Calaió’s ban from football has been shorted to December 31, 2018.

These are notable reductions in both cases.

Parma released an official statement saying the club is satisfied with the new ruling adding, “From the very beginning, we followed with complete trust in the judicial bodies in a situation that has massively damaged the image of the club.”
