Speaking at a press conference ahead of Italy’s Euro 2020 qualifying match against Armenia, Leonardo Bonucci insisted his form improved following an injury to Juventus team-mate Giorgio Chiellini.
“His injury was important, it lit a fire in me,” Bonucci told reporters. “My goal was to be better than the past two years. I know that I didn’t give my best but the situations were difficult and my objective was to be the best.
“I am 32 years old, but I have room to grow. I must always be in physical shape. I see Giorgio every day in Turin, he will surprise everyone.”
